Evaluation, just a investigation

Three motorcyclists killed in two days in tasmania

The deaths, one each on Monday and Tuesday, represent the first fatal motorcycle incidents in two weeks in central Tasmania, police say.

Two of the victims, a 55-year-old man from Melbourne, and a 56-year-old from Adelaide, also died in the incident.

All of those involved were involved in an ongoing dispute about parking. They were pulled over in Adelaide's west and were refused access to their car and vehicle parking permit, police say.

After the motorists were not allowed to park, a scuffle followed and a motorcycle rider, later identified as Anthony J Dickson, kicked one of the motorcyclists in the head, causing him to fall and strike his head on a car trunk.

The motorcyclist then punched Mr Dickson before being chased by a second motorcyclist. After Mr Dickson kicked again he was again arrested and charged with criminal damage, police say.

The motorcyclist then jumped into a motor vehicle and struck another motorcyclist, before it smashed into a fence.

The driver of the motorcycle who died, a 25-year-old man, was treated at the scene, and is receiving medical attention.

An 80-year-old man from Melbourne was treated by paramedics at the scene but did not require treatment and died. He was later released from hospital and has been discharged and returned to work.

Police said they had not released their names to protect any family.

Police spokesman Andrew Coles said the investigation was underway to identify a fourth motorcyclist involved in the deaths.
